My Bible says that Mark was probably the first
Gospel written. The other Gospels quote all but 31 verses of Mark. Mark
records more miracles than does any other Gospel.
Would you take some time today and share a
verse or two that stands out to you? It could be a verse God used to speak to
you, a favorite verse, or anything that caused you to pause as you were
reading. Maybe you even read the verse twice. It could be a verse from Mark or
anywhere else that you are reading right now. I'll go first:
Mark 1:13: and he was in the desert
forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels
attended him.
Mark 1:35: Very early in the morning,
while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary
place, where he prayed.
Mark 2:17: On hearing this, Jesus said
to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not
come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Mark 3:24-25: If a kingdom is divided
against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against
itself, that house cannot stand.
